Arsonists Lullaby by Korey Brown @Koreyb_asic

I am simply delighted that Mom saved it!
So I realized that I still haven't uploaded a picture of this individual piece after someone asked me what the one in the center of my exhibit picture was yesterday. That's mostly because I personally don't like it. It was in the garbage and my mom pulled it out. In my opinion, it looks like a troll doll. Nonetheless, others seem to enjoy it, so I guess I'll post it. It's called "Arsonist's Lullaby" based off the song by Hozier. Essentially, I was attempting to capture the idea that people can have addictions or secrets about them that slowly eat them away and are often nothing like the person appears (hence the vast difference in the green face and the flames). I wanted it to be really strong and bold lines and colors, but it came out faded and soft. As someone pointed out to me, it almost portrays my theme better, though. For one, it's soft like a lullaby like the title indicates and the softness adds to the idea that addictions are often very subtle and hidden. Anyway, sorry for the long post, but I just really loved the idea behind this piece and (although I was disappointed with the outcome) I wanted to give the explanation it deserved.
