Brand new canvas piece, featuring Victoria as my muse. This was inspired by the lyrics from ‘Jackie and Wilson’ by @hozier . “Watch it burn and rust, We tried the world, Good god it wasn’t for us” through the use of earthy colours and lighting, I tried to capture these lyrics visually. 20x16in, acrylic paint on canvas. 7mon

Emma Heneghan

you sent me an instagram post about my drawing of hozier earlier Smiling face with smiling eyes.
My names emma heneghan, I’m 18 years old and Irish.
I love music and especially great Irish musicians like hozier. His music is really meaningful and deep And he is so talented. I’ve been a fan of his since I saw him play at soulfest in Merrion square in 2013.
I love art, its a way for me to express my feelings and ideas, and it’s great for a break from studying.
Thanks,
Emma heneghan

Emma,

Your drawing is amazing. I just fell in love with it the moment I saw it. I’ve been a fan of Irish music for a long time. When I was 8 we moved from a predominately Portuguese (my heritage)/Italian neighborhood to an predominately Irish one. I was amazing the first time I made a red head friend with freckles. I grew up hearing as many stories of the “Old sod” as I did hearing about the the lagoons and volcanic springs in Portugal. I hope to get there one day, well I actually was if you want to call a 1 hour layover in Galway airport being to Ireland.

If you ever draw him again or the lyrics to a song inspires you, please feel free to pass them along. I’d love to add it to your collection.

Be well, and thank you!

Lucy
